Frequently asked questions
How much will my care cost?
This depends on your main symptom and whether you decide to carry out further investigations with Bloomful. For example, our doctor may advise that you take a hormone test to check for markers of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It’s up to you to decide whether you’d like to do this through our clinic or ask your GP for these tests.
A consultation with Bloomful Clinic is £79 (any subsequent appointments are also £79). Our hormone tests start at £69 and include a gynaecologist’s report.
Where is Bloomful based?
We are in the UK and offer online consultations to anyone who lives in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, we’re currently unable to offer consultations outside these locations. Our educational resources and free assessment tool Lana are accessible to everyone.
What if I need face-to-face care?
A surprising level of assessment and care can be given through ‘telehealth’, a growing form of healthcare that gives you access to professional care from the comfort of your home. Sometimes, a scan or physical examination will be needed. In these cases, Bloomful will refer you to one of our trusted partners. At the moment, our referrals are mainly in South East England, but we will soon expand to other parts of the UK.
How do you do blood tests?
Our blood testing kits are sent to your home where you can easily collect your own blood sample through the finger prick method. Full instructions are included in the kit and most people find this method works well for them. Once you’ve sent your sample to our lab (using the pre-paid envelope provided) your results will be emailed to you within three working days.
Do you offer prescriptions?
Yes, each prescription costs £15.
Can I share my report with my GP and other healthcare providers?
After your consultation, you will receive a detailed report from our gynaecologist. We encourage you to share this with your GP for two reasons: firstly, it keeps your doctor informed and maintains continuity of care. Secondly, the report can add weight to any concerns you’d like to raise, helping you get the appropriate tests and treatments if you choose to do so through the NHS.
Due to resource constraints, we are unable to share your report with healthcare providers on your behalf.
Why are there no appointments available in 3 weeks?
We open bookings on a bi-weekly, rolling basis. This means you can book your appointment up to two weeks in advance. If you’d like to book further ahead, email us at clinic@bloomful.io and we’ll do our best to find a time that works for you.
